I found this in an old book I checked out from the library. I scanned nearly every pattern, but the wheat doily, and it's partner the runner (yet to make), really caught my eye.

This doily was made on 40 ecru thread on a size 12 hook (or was it 13). The pattern called for size 30, which is what I will make the runner from.
